
Fasting? On a Friday no less? Navratri traditions can be...challenging.
Put the 'n' in Navratri noms with these Banana & Cottage Cheese bites, a pick-me-up snack that’s easy to put together, but more importantly, it doesn't stray from Navratri-approved dietary guidelines so you won't be at the receiving end of earfuls from mum. Win-win!
Here's what you'll need to get started:
- Bananas, 2, unripened
- Cottage Cheese, 75g (or 1/2 cup), crumbled
- Coriander, 2 tbsp, chopped
- Ginger Chilli Paste, 2 tsp
- Unsalted Peanuts, 1 tbsp, coarsely ground
- Farali Flour / Singhara Flour, 2 tbsp
- Salt, to taste
Recipe:
1. Take unripened bananas, wash and remove stalk and tail part and Microwave for 3 min along with its skin.
2. Once cool, remove its skin with the help of a knife and mash the bananas.
3. Now add cottage cheese, freshly chopped coriander leaves, ginger chillies paste, coarsely ground unsalted peanuts, farali atta (flour) & salt to taste.
4. Mix well and prepare a mixture in shapes of balls.
5. Heat oil, Put paneer and bananas balls in hot oil and keep flame on medium so that it cooks nicely from inside.
6. Keep stirring intermittently and fry till golden in colour.
7. Once golden in color, remove from hot oil onto a paper napkin and Serve hot with Green Chutney!
